Key Takeaways
- 2025 update: On PC, the setting is toward the bottom of the page when you click the pencil to edit your profile.
- As of 2025, the option to disable autoplay on other devices is not available. Any blog that claims this mostly uses an AI generator that understands nothing regarding less-known topics like this.
- You can turn off autoplay in Peacock on Google Chrome by using Autoplay Stopper extension.
- On Android, you can set a timer for your app using Digital Wellbeing. On iOS, use the built-in sleep timer to stop media from playing.
- On TV, use the sleep timer. It also warns you so you can extend if you need. But TV may not stop streaming in the background if you don’t have a CEC connection.

The autoplay feature can be annoying whether you use Peacock app on your Android, iPhone, or TV.
When you finish a series or all of the available episodes of a series, it will autoplay to a completely different show.
Or If you wish to fall asleep while watching TV, you wake up the next day to find that 6 or 7 episodes have streamed. Can you scroll back up to where you left off? Sure. However, it would be preferable if it could be turned off.
What’s even worse, you waste tons of data as it continues to stream for the next 8 hours until you wake up.
To be clear, there are no peacock autoplay settings; a straightforward way is to press “Cancel” during the end credits.
This could be useful when you’re awake because it prevents Peacock from playing the next episode of a series or from invariably selecting a movie or show that you’ve previously seen or would never choose.
But when you fall asleep, the “Cancel” button is useless.

How to Turn Off Autoplay on Peacock?
Peacock TV was a big name in the new class of streaming services last year, and it gradually accumulated enough fascinating and exclusive material to win a spot on our list of the top streaming services.
Peacock TV prices are divided into three categories: Peacock Free, Peacock Premium with ads ($4.99/month), and Peacock Premium Plus without ads ($9.99/month). All of these options are available at PeacockTV.com.
Furthermore, Peacock TV includes an autoplay mode that will automatically play the following episode of a series and a completely other show after you finish one.
Because there are no autoplay options on the app, the autoplay feature is a little concerning because it does not stop playing when they fall asleep.
Without further ado, here are all the available solutions to turn off autoplay on Peacock on each device.
Turn Off Autoplay on Peacock Google Chrome
One of the best and worst features of Google Chrome is the number of browser extensions available in the Chrome store.
It’s the best because it provides users with practically endless ways to improve their Chrome experience, but it’s also the worst since you may be unaware of how many incredible extensions you’re missing out on if you never look for them.
Chrome extensions can do everything, from totally reorganizing your email inbox to helping you reduce time spent on social media.
If you’re using Google Chrome to watch Peacock, there’s a Chrome addon called Autoplay Stopper that has worked wonderfully for me.
I have the default mode set to “Allow Autoplay” and then added Peacock as an exception with behavior set to “Block (strict)” And voila! No more autoplay. Just have to click the “Play” button when the next episode loads.

Please note, this solution is frustrating for Peacock with ads because the plugin will pause your video after every advertisement but works great for folks using the ad-free version.
Turn Off Autoplay on Peacock Android
Some phones can track how much time you spend on your phone, such as how frequently you unlock it and how long you use each app. You can use that info to improve your digital well-being. For example, you can set app timers and schedule display changes.

This is an intelligent way to stop Peacock’s autoplay feature because as soon as your movie is over, Digital Wellbeing will restrict the app and prevent the autoplay feature from kicking in.
Navigate to Settings > Digital Wellbeing & Parental Controls > Dashboard > Set timers for your apps > Choose Peacock (or another app) > Put in how long you want it to play… mine is set to 40 minutes.
The main disadvantage is that you cannot easily snooze or extend, although there is a notification when time is running out, which I have clicked on and increased permissions.
It’s not perfect, but it’s a better method than I had previously. When you do this in Settings, remember to select yourself as a parent. If you don’t, it may be a simple fix, but it appears to be something that may become really annoying to work with if you’re already a child-level user.
Turn Off Autoplay on Peacock iPhone
It’s not instantly obvious, but the iPhone features a built-in sleep timer that helps you unwind and shut down at night, or whenever you want to play media for a short time.
It’s also not a new feature; the sleep timer has been present in the iPhone since iOS 7, thus it may be used on older or un-updated devices.

When using the sleep timer, you can specify how long the timer should run, and at the end of the cycle, your phone will stop playing music, video, or Whatever media is currently playing, switch off the screen and lock the device.
If you want to fall asleep to late-night entertainment, your phone will shut down and save battery power.
- Start the Clock app.
- At the bottom of the screen, tap Timer.
- Spin the hour, minute, and second dials to set the length of timer you want to use.
- Tap When Timer Ends.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Stop Playing, then tap Set.
- Tap Start.
The timer will start. You can now start watching or listening to whatever media you choose, and you can even sleep if you want. When the countdown runs out, the phone automatically stops playing media, shuts off the display, and locks.
Turn Off Autoplay on Peacock on TV
- For that reason, I always use the sleep timer on my TV with Peacock, which informs you and allows you to extend it if necessary. In theory, an app could keep streaming even if the TV is turned off, but it shouldn’t if there’s a CEC connection.
- Set the sleep timer on your TV if you’re using an Android box on your TV, or presumably if you have an Android TV. When an Android TV is turned off, the streaming ends. You must also set the remote power control to CEC so that the box and TV turn on and off at the same time. Then, when the TV turns off after an hour or whatever time you select, it also turns off the box.
- A user on Reddit noticed that when he streams from his phone to TV it only plays one episode.
Contact Peacock Support
It could also be a good idea to contact Peacock Support and complain about the autoplay feature.
However, you should be aware that Peacock support has already advised the public that autoplay is a hardwired feature and that this will most likely be repeated.
As a result, we advise you to try any of our other solutions to reduce the tension created by the autoplay feature.
Go to Peacock’s website if you still want to contact their support team to see if there’s anything they can do.
Why Are There no Peacock Autoplay Settings?
It’s worth noting that NBC Universal, according to CEO Jeff Shell, is paid to run commercials on Peacock, and the more ads they run, the more money they make.
As a result, it’s unlikely that they’ll add a feature to stop or limit autoplay on Peacock because it will reduce their earning potential.
You should keep this in mind when filing a complaint with Peacock’s help center, as the likelihood of them disabling the autoplay feature is low.

Conclusion
Streaming videos can rapidly become unpleasant for a platform like Peacock, which has an autoplay option that enables your favorite show to continue playing even when you’re not viewing.
However, you should not let this discourage you. To disable Peacock’s autoplay feature on your Roku TV or mobile device, use one of the options we’ve advised.
At least one of these alternatives should work great, and you should be able to watch your favorite shows without any problems.

There are not just two plans. You sign up for peacock that’s $4.99 before tax. In order to get commercial free you have to add another package of $5 before tax. They do not combine these two you pay two separate prices and it comes out of your bank account two separate times!
Thanks for pointing this out, Dee Chi. I didn’t give much attention to anything except how to get rid of the autoplay feature in this post. I’ll make sure this mistake won’t be repeated in future articles.
The problem is that with Peacock, the autoplay will select anything that Peacock considers related. You could be watching a movie and at the end of the movie, it starts playing Superstore or Chicago PD (both have happened to me). It keeps going. In the case of Superstore you go to the last episode. You can do that with Chicago PD, but when a new episode comes on, I don’t know that it won’t show up again. My stuff, should only be shows from what you select, not what they select for you. Series you didn’t select should not come back. I hate the autoplay feature. I always disable it. I use an Apple TV to watch shows on my TV.
But which button do you push to press the “Cancel” icon at the end of the show?
